Accessibility statement
Last reviewed October 28, 2026.
Data Fact Tree, LLC wants everyone to be able to read this site, book a call, and send a message, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page says what we have done, what is not yet right, and how to reach us when something gets in your way.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 define three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA. This site is built to level AA and is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA: the third-party content listed under "Known limitations" does not fully conform. The assessment is our own self-evaluation, not yet confirmed by an independent review.
What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone. The focused element is always visible, and a "Skip to content" link is the first thing the Tab key reaches.
- Text contrast is at least 4.5:1 against its background, and interface controls and focus rings at least 3:1, on light and navy surfaces alike. No information is carried by color alone.
- Every page has one H1, headings in order without skipped levels, a language declaration, and a unique title. Landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), and breadcrumbs on content pages, let screen-reader users move around.
- Every image has a text alternative or is marked decorative. Icons are decorative; the words next to them carry the meaning.
- Every form field has a visible label. When a form has errors, the first field with one receives focus and is marked invalid, with the message in text next to it. The brief form works without JavaScript.
- The booking calendar is an accessible grid: arrow keys move between days, Home and End jump, and the month heading and the list of times announce their changes to screen readers.
- The layout works at 200 percent browser zoom and reflows to a single column on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Nothing moves, flashes, or plays on its own. Transitions are turned off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- The Expertise menu follows the WAI-ARIA disclosure pattern: it opens on click, Enter, Space, or the down arrow, closes on Escape, and returns focus to its button.
Known limitations
- Booking a call needs JavaScript. With JavaScript off, a note in place of the calendar asks you to send a brief with a few times that suit you; we confirm one by email.
- Embedded videos. If a research entry embeds a video, it plays in YouTube's player, whose controls and captions are YouTube's. Where we can, the entry also gives the content in text.
- Research papers are hosted by their publishers (IEEE Xplore) as PDFs whose accessibility we do not control. Each entry on this site summarizes the paper in text.
- Pages on other sites that we link to (LinkedIn, Google Scholar, publishers) are outside this statement.
Tell us what is not working
If any part of this site is hard to use, email info@datafacttree.com with the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We answer accessibility reports within two business days, usually sooner, and aim to fix what we can within a week. If you need the content of a page in another form, say so and we will send it.
Compatibility
The site is designed for the current and previous major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, on desktop and mobile. It should work with the screen readers commonly used with them (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack) and with browser zoom and reduced-motion settings; Windows high-contrast mode has not been tested yet. The site relies on HTML and CSS, with JavaScript only for the booking calendar and small enhancements.
How we assessed it
This statement is based on our own review of every page: keyboard-only use, browser accessibility inspectors, and contrast measurement of every color pair. Our automated tests check that every page has one H1 and that the menu and the calendar work by keyboard. We review the site after each content or layout change and update this statement when something changes.
